Tipsy Tuesday: Light Fixture Fun!

A light fixture is one of the easiest ways to bring style and color to a room. I’m a sucker for all things Charleston and southern, so I instantly fell in love with Urban Electric’s Chisholm Hall lantern. Its’ simple elegance and countless finish and color options make it a timeless look and a perfect fit for so many spaces in the home.  Depending on your budget, this beauty is priced upwards of $4,000.

I was so thrilled when I stumbled upon Lantern and Scroll’s John Street lantern. With a price point closer to $650, it also has multiple color and finish options and similar dimensions to the Chisolm Hall! I love the story behind the fixture as well. It was inspired by John Street, a bustling alley way behind King Street and home to many of Charleston’s top restaurants. Both options are stunning - I’m just torn with where to put one now…entry, pantry office, mudroom, baby’s room? So many choices!

2019 Is Here!

I took a few days off of social media to sit with my people and enjoy these last schedule-free lazy days of winter break! So fun, crazy and refreshing all at the same time. Im not sure what’s to come in 2019, nor what resolutions I will actually stick with, but the one thing that will hold constant in my heart is working on making my family relationship deeper and more meaningful. On the top of my 2019 list is to hug each one of them 17 times a day. I loved this article by @kidsactivitiesblog on 7 ways to show your kids you love them. Here’s to a new start for us all!

Guest Room Must Haves!

What fun it was to host my family for a magical and fun-filled holiday! We will cherish the memories always. What a treat it was to have a comfortable finished space for them to stay in as well. Last spring, I participated in the One Room Challenge and competed in transforming one room in my home in a six-week timeframe. There were some bumps along the way, and many valuable lessons learned, but the end result is a cozy space we can share with our dearest guests!

Week 2 - One Room Challenge

What fun to make a mad dash through town finding inspo for my One Room Challenge Guest Bedroom! I like to find an anchor piece for a room and run with it. This time it was a floral wallpaper by Schumacher. I made it to my favorite fabric and custom bed shop, Madre, to attempt to find fabric for a custom bed, a rug, and bedding. I love, love working with their designers to sift through boxes and boxes of fabrics, rugs, sheets, you name it! We found some darling let’s see if we can execute a custom room in a very short time frame!

One Room Challenge - Here Goes Nothing!

Hi Friends,

I am SOO thrilled to announce I have decided on a crazy whim to join House Beautiful's One Room Challenge AND launch my blog all in six weeks! (Insert crazy emoji face here!). Here goes nothing! I have six weeks to completely transform our guest room - currently a dunmping ground for old comforters, furniture and arts. Into a comfortable and inviting place where we can entertain our many family, friends and visitors though the years.  I have had an inspiration board for this room and even the wallpaper for it just sitting under the guest room bed for months. I am so thrilled to have a great reason to get started on it NOW! Because otherwise it might get done the day after never right?! I hope you will follow along as I transform our guest room into a luxuriously comfortable and functional space for our guests with twists of southern charm!

Here are the ORC's fabulous Featured Designers and Guest Participants for you to check out in the meantime. I'll be posting my progress weekly, so please join me! The biggest challenge in designing a space for me is all the DECISIONS! So I invite you to help me make this a space you would be thrilled to come and stay in.
